Canada banned the use of the veil. for Muslims when the displacement citizenship swearing-in ceremony took place. Such a ban is being considered also to apply to a wider sphere.
Citizenship and Immigration Minister Jason Kenney said, anyone who wants to become Canadian citizens must show his face. The ban was imposed after many complaints from judges and lawmakers who said they heard the pronunciation of difficult veils oath prospective citizens.
"This rule is not only a question of prohibition. But the matter of deep principle about identity and values our openness and equality," said Kenney published news stations like BBC, Monday, December 12, 2011.
Kenney also dismissed the news that calls this policy injuring religious rights. According to him, in the eyes of the law of the identity of all people should be clear, and Canadian law in this case more important than religious doctrine.
There are at least 940 thousand Muslim population in Canada, or 2.8 percent of the population. Earlier in Quebec, the use of veil and face veil banned for citizens who wish to obtain services from government offices.
The Canadian government is currently considering a comprehensive ban on the use of the veil in government offices, schools and hospitals. If so, then Canada will overtake France and Belgium which have first imposed a ban on veiled.
